Fair Trade Week

Inspired by the ‘Make Poverty History’ Campaign in 2005, I looked for a business which could work to change the lives of others by breaking the cycle of poverty. The fair trade model does that by supporting no child labour, guaranteed fair minimum wages for employees, and premiums for social programs. Time to take action, come out to the Queen’s Centre to sign a petition, pick up a fair disruption card and walk past a typical timeline for a coffee grower in Africa. The typical timeline for a coffee bean farmer will be shown on a long poster board, which the students can walk along.
